I am a software engineer and an Indian options trader. I built LossGuardian because I needed it myself.
Who I am
I go by vidschauhan almost everywhere online, and I share my trading journey as The Liquidity Trader on YouTube, Instagram and X. I write most of the articles on the LossGuardian blog.
By profession I build software. My work has always been about systems that behave the same way every time: clear rules, tested logic, no surprises. That way of thinking, in rules and edge cases, turned out to be the exact thing my trading was missing.
How I trade
I trade index options, mostly Nifty, intraday. Over the years my style moved towards price action and order flow: where liquidity sits, where big orders get absorbed, and where a move is likely to fail.
I journal every session and review the month at the end of it. I learned early that the chart tells only half the story. The other half is what I did, and why I did it.
The mistake I kept repeating
For a long time my analysis was not the problem. Most days the plan was fine. What went wrong was what happened after the first loss.
A stop loss would hit, and instead of stepping back I would take the next trade a little too fast. Then a little bigger, to win it back. I would move a stop loss I had promised myself not to touch. On good days I did the opposite and kept trading long after my target, because it felt easy.
Every evening my journal showed it clearly. Every next morning I did it again. The rules were in my head and in my notes, but nothing stood between me and the next click once emotions took over. Rules you can ignore are not really rules.
When I spoke to other traders, I heard the same story. Most of us do not lose because we lack a strategy. We lose on the few days we walk away from it.
Why I built LossGuardian
As an engineer, I did what I know best and tried to solve it with software. I did not want an app that takes over my account or squares off my positions. I wanted something that sits beside me, watches my live P&L across my broker accounts, and speaks up at the moments I usually go wrong: when I reach my daily loss limit, when I start overtrading, and when I jump into a revenge trade straight after a loss.
That became LossGuardian (some people write it as Loss Guardian). It is read-only. You set your rules while you are calm, and it holds you to them when you are not. Reach your limit and you get an alert you cannot simply click away, but the decision to stop is always yours. It is the tool I wanted on my own worst days.
What I believe
Discipline can be trained
It is not a personality trait you either have or do not. It is a habit, and habits get built with feedback at the right moment.
Rules are made when calm
Set your limits before the market opens. The middle of a losing streak is the worst time to decide how much more you can lose.
You stay in control
Software should support your decision, not take it away. LossGuardian is read-only and never places, changes or cancels an order.
Need it less over time
The goal is a trader who follows their own rules without being reminded. If LossGuardian works, you lean on it less every month.
