Angel One kill switch and daily loss limits, without handing over your account
Angel One gives you a stop-loss on a trade. It does not give you a stop-loss on your day. LossGuardian sits alongside your Angel One account, watches your realised and unrealised P&L in real time, and stops you the moment you hit the limit you set.
Read-only. LossGuardian cannot place, modify or cancel an order in your Angel One account. It warns you, and you act. You log in on Angel One’s own screen, and we never see or store your password.
How LossGuardian connects to Angel One
- 1
Pick Angel One in LossGuardian and paste your own Angel One API key. It is stored in your computer's secure keychain, never on our servers.
- 2
Log in on Angel One's own screen. Your password goes to Angel One, not to us.
- 3
Set your limits: a rupee figure, a percentage of capital, a trade count, a cutoff time. These are your rules, not our defaults.
- 4
Trade as normal. LossGuardian watches in the background and speaks up only when you cross a line you drew.
The missing guardrail in Angel One
Discipline tools usually only know about the days you remembered to run them, which makes their history useless exactly when you most want to look back honestly. And a trade that executed while the app was closed should not vanish from your record, nor should it fire an alert three hours late.
Daily loss limit
A rupee limit and a percentage of capital, running together. Cross either and the session is stopped.
Revenge trading caught by timing
Re-entering too soon after an exit is what gets flagged, so it is caught even when the trade happens to win.
Consecutive loss cooldown
Hit your streak limit and a countdown holds before the app treats you as clear to re-enter.
Alerts you cannot dismiss
A full-screen stop, not a toast you can click away while tilted.
What Angel One traders get most out of
Scores days it never watched live
Roughly 80% of discipline stats (limit breaches, execution-window violations, consecutive-loss counts) can be re-derived from your tradebook alone, for sessions the app was never running. Real-time-only stats are marked "not available" rather than guessed at.
Offline trades reconciled cleanly
Trades that executed while LossGuardian was closed are detected and folded into your state and discipline data, without retroactively firing alerts for something you cannot act on any more.
Past performance you can drill into
A local history database, scoped strictly per broker account and rebuildable from the underlying archive, with day-by-day and period trends and an intraday equity drill-down for any past day.
Is this a Angel One kill switch?
Not in the sense of software that reaches into your Angel One account and closes your positions for you. LossGuardian is read-only: it cannot place, modify or cancel an order. What it does is enforce the rule behind a kill switch: the moment your loss limit, trade count or losing streak is breached, the session is stopped with a full-screen alert you cannot click away, and a cooldown holds before it treats you as clear to re-enter. You close the trade, in Angel One. That is the part that builds the habit, and it is the part software cannot do for you.
The nearest thing is a deep link. From the hard-stop popup, or from Risk Manager settings, LossGuardian opens Angel One’s own kill-switch screen in your browser, already signed in. You then activate it yourself with the OTP Angel One sends you, which the broker requires and no third party can supply. So the trip is one click instead of five, and the decision is still yours. We never toggle it for you: no code path in LossGuardian can flip a live brokerage safety control on your behalf.
One price. Every broker.
Using LossGuardian with Angel One costs exactly what it costs with Zerodha, Fyers, Dhan, Upstox or Groww. Other tools charge you more for using a bigger broker. We don’t.
Angel One questions, answered
Can LossGuardian place or close trades in my Angel One account?
No. LossGuardian is read-only. It cannot place, modify or cancel an order on your Angel One account. It watches your positions and warns you; closing a trade is always your own action in Angel One.
How does LossGuardian connect to Angel One?
You supply your own Angel One API key, which LossGuardian stores in your operating system’s secure keychain on your own machine. You log in on Angel One’s own screen, and we never see or store your Angel One password.
What happens if I close LossGuardian mid-session and reopen it?
It detects the trades that executed while it was closed, reconciles your positions and discipline data, and carries on. It will not fire a stack of stale alerts for breaches you can no longer do anything about.
Is LossGuardian a Angel One kill switch?
Not one that closes your positions for you. LossGuardian is read-only and cannot place, modify or cancel an order. It enforces the rule behind a kill switch: breach your daily loss limit, trade count or losing streak and the session stops with a full-screen alert you cannot dismiss, followed by a cooldown. You close the trade yourself in Angel One. For Angel One’s own kill switch it is semi-automatic: LossGuardian deep-links you straight to that screen from the popup or from Risk Manager settings, signed in and ready, and you activate it with the OTP Angel One sends. That OTP step is a broker requirement and it is mandatory, which is exactly why no tool can flip the switch for you.
Does it cost more to use LossGuardian with Angel One?
No. LossGuardian is one price for every supported broker: Zerodha, Fyers, Dhan, Upstox, Angel One, Groww. Your broker does not change what you pay.
